Mrs. Thessalonia Bridges Sanford of 113 Lonnie Lane, Americus, Georgia died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 at 1:00 P. M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Americus, Georgia. The burial will follow at the New Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.

Mrs. Thessalonia Bridges Sanford was born on March 26, 1941 in Preston, Georgia. She was born to the late Mr. Gordy Bridges and the late Ms. Aretha Mae Harris.

She received her education in the public schools of Preston, Georgia.

With her desire to always help others, it was only fitting that she would become a healthcare provider. As a nurse assistant, she took great pride and care in working with her patients.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she regularly attended meetings at the Kingdom Hall. She also enjoyed studying about Jehovah.

A dedicated mother and grandmother, she will be lovingly remembered for the time she spent with her family and her love for life. She also enjoyed shopping.

On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Her husband, Mr. Willie E. Sanford, Sr., preceded her in death. Her daughter, Ms. Carol R. Sanford, her siblings, Mrs. Pearline Pickett and Mr. Gordy Bridges, Jr., and her granddaughter, Miss Nykevia Sanford also precede her in death.

She will forever be remembered by her loving and devoted children, Mr. Willie E. Sanford, Jr. and his wife, Mrs. Yolynda Sanford and Mrs. Donna G. Sapp and her husband, Mr. Kenneth Sapp all of Americus, Georgia, Ms. Deborah D. Penn of Columbus, Georgia, Ms. Karen D. Sanford, Mrs. Pamela M. Frederick and her husband, Mr. Keith Frederick, and Ms. Brenda Jackson all of Americus, Georgia; her loving grandchildren, Kareem, Javaras, Ai’Den, Reginald, Jr., Taylor, Cedric, Parish, Wesley, Brandon, Markece, Sloane, Ranata, Shika, Shan, and Monique; 20+ great grandchildren; her loving sisters, Mrs. Leola Furlow of Americus, Georgia and Mrs. Ossie Bell Baker of Preston, Georgia; her beloved brothers, Mr. Sammie L. Bridges and his wife, Mrs. Faye Bridges, Mr. James A. Bridges and his wife, Mrs. Viola Bridges, and Mr. Joe Bridges all of Americus, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
