Mrs. Bonnie Dean Wright Williams
Mrs. Bonnie Dean Wright Williams of 421 Ferguson Road, Desoto, Georgia died Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 A. M. in the sanctuary of the St. John Baptist Church in Leslie, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Antioch Church Cemetery in Desoto, Georgia.
During the summer of 1954 in Desoto, Georgia, the union of Sampson Wright, Sr. and Margaret Brown Wright joyfully anticipated the birth of a new addition to the family. They were wonderfully blessed with a beautiful baby girl on Thursday, July 1st. They named their blessing Bonnie Dean.
Bonnie was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. In 1972 she earned her high school diploma from Union High School in Leslie, Georgia. Always willing to accept a challenge, she enrolled at South Georgia Tech and studied Aviation. She also attended Darton College and studied Health Care Administration.
Early in her life she developed a love for the Lord and united with the Antioch Baptist Church in Leslie, Georgia. She committed her life to the service of the Lord and was always willing to serve when called upon. While it is true that she possessed a quiet spirit, she was always happy and her joyfulness never waivered. They served as her foundation as she went about her duties as an usher at the church.
For 20+ years, Bonnie was employed by Tyson Foods. When not working, she loved tending to her flowers and cleaning. A hard worker and dependable business woman, she was a jokester in her own way, who also loved to cook. Her love for her family was always evident by the care and concern she displayed to her sons and grandchildren. Along with her siblings, she took special pride in being able to care for her mother.
Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Mrs. Brownie Frazier and Mrs. Hattie Ball; her brothers, Mr. Sampson Wright, Jr. and Mr. Frankie Wright.
While her life on this side came to a peaceful end on Friday, March 1, 2019, her legacy of caring will forever live on in the hearts of her loving and devoted sons, Mr. Robert Williams, Jr. and his wife, Mrs. Regina Williams of Leesburg, Georgia and Mr. Marvin Williams and his wife, Mrs. Tina Williams of Pinehurst, Georgia; her beloved grandchildren, Justin Askew of Pinehurst, Georgia and Jarrell Davis of Tampa, Florida; her loving and devoted mother, Mother Margaret Brown Wright of Desoto, Georgia; her loving sisters, Mrs. Martha McGhee of Leslie, Georgia and Mrs. Evon Antwine and her husband, Mr. Wayne Antwine of Stone Mountain, Georgia; her caring brothers, Mr. Leotis Wright, Mr. George Wright, and Mr. Kenneth Wright all of Cobb, Georgia, Mr. Ulysses Wright and his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Wright of Americus, Georgia; her uncle, Mr. Walker Wright, Sr. of Miami, Florida; her brother-in-law, Mr. L. C. Ball of Desoto, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Annie Jewell Wright of Desoto, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
