Freddie Mae Griffin Thomas
Mrs. Freddie Mae Griffin Thomas was born in Sumter County, Georgia on August 1, 1945, to the parentage of the late Mr. Eugene Griffin and Mrs. Frankie Covin Griffin, who survives. She attended Southeast Elementary School and the Nunn Industrial School. At an early age, she joined the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed for over 30 years at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Center, Americus, Georgia.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Tommie Griffin, Eugene Griffin, Jr., and Johnny Griffin and a son, Robert Thomas, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Ms. Frankie C. Griffin, Americus, GA; her husband, Mr. Johnny B. Thomas, Americus, GA; her children: Mr. Norman Thomas, Fort Myers, FL; Ms. Sabrina Thomas, Mr. Timmy (Denise) Thomas, all of Americus, GA and Mr. Casey (Kristen) Thomas, Sumter, SC; one brother, Mr. Kelvin Griffin, Americus, GA; seven sisters: Ms. Martha Alford, Ms. Vivian Grover, Ms. Katherine Jones, Mrs. Mandy (Fred) Jones, all of Americus, GA; Ms. Annie Wright, Cobb, GA; Mrs. Peggy (Melvin) Chevers, Cordele, GA and Ms. Mammie Jackson, Fort Myers, FL; her grandchildren: Jennifer (Keyomie) Townsend, Raeford, NC; a devoted grandson, Jamaine Thomas, Casey Smith, Porsha Goober, all of Americus, GA; LaMonica (Aramuis) Odister, Clovis, NM; Devontais Williams, Denver, CO; Dequntez Williams, Perry, GA; devoted granddaughter, Alexia Thomas, Tifton, GA; Jamaya Bennett, Javin Bennett, both of Athens, GA and Dezandrea Williams, Raeford, NC; three sisters-in-law: Ms. Vivian Griffin, Ms. Mattie Frances Griffin and Ms. Tracy Griffin, all of Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, including a devoted niece, Nikita Griffin Bass; nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
