Evangelist Nora Frances Tymes Pless

January 30, 1940 – February 5, 2020

Evangelist Nora Frances Tymes Pless was born in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia was born on January 30, 1940. She was the second oldest of ten children born to the late Mr. Earthen Tymes and the late Mrs. Annie Slaughter Tymes. She received her education in the public schools of Marion County, Georgia. At an early age, she joined the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Marion County, Georgia. Nora served as an educator in the New York Public School System for over 26 years. She also attended New York Theological Seminary and became a certified evangelist. After retirement, she moved to Americus, Georgia. At age 23, she married George Pless, Jr. and to their union, two children were born. Nora is preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Sanora Pless and her siblings: Herman Tymes, Eva Tymes Thornton and Hubert Tymes.

In addition to her husband, she leaves to cherish her memories: a son, Mr. Kenneth (Robin) Pless of Brooklyn, NY; two grandchildren, India Walker and Natasia Pless and a great-granddaughter, Isyss Walker-Dwight, all of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Earthern (Ardessa) Tymes, Jr. of Buena Vista, GA and Edward (Roslyn) Tymes of Midland, GA; a sister, Patricia (David) Nixon of Newman, GA; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Robert (Loraine) Pless, Sr. of Palmetto, GA and Mr. Johnny David Pless of Americus, GA; five sisters-in-law: Ms. Annie Maude Jackson, Buena Vista, GA; Ms. Bertha M. Pless, Melbourne, FL; Ms. Ella Pearl Moran, Ms. Bobbie P. Sims, Ms. Gladys Pless, all of Americus, GA and Ms. Ruby (Marvin) Lee, Eastpoint, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
