Mr. Arthur Charles Barron “RC”

October 5, 1959 – January 27, 2020

Mr. Arthur Charles Barron was born in Sumter County, Georgia on October 5, 1959, to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie James Barron and the late Mrs. Easter Mae Searcy Barron. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County, graduating from Union High School in Leslie, Georgia. At an early age, he joined the Old Corinth Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until his health failed. Arthur or “RC”, as he was affectionately called, was employed by the Sumter County Board of Education and retired in 2017 after giving 36 years of service. He loved his Sumter County RAMS and was known as a die-hard fan. He loved the children that walked the halls of Sumter County High School and cherished the relationships that he formed with each of them. Arthur always had a kind word to share and simply wanted to add a ray of sunshine to those that he encountered. Many days at work, he took the time to stop at every classroom on his hall speaking to the teachers and staff members.

He is preceded in death by three brothers: Clarence Searcy, Jimmie Lee Barron, Larry Donnell Barron; a sister, Willie Bell Barron and his grandparents, Mr. Willie and Mrs. Sarah Walton.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two sisters, Ms. Louise B. Mayes of Dothan, AL and Ms. Carolina Barron and friend, Emmett Floyd of Leslie, GA; one brother, Mr. James Barron, Americus, GA; one aunt, Mrs. Johnnie Vaughn, Americus, GA; five nephews: Christopher (Taneeneka) Barron, Darian Floyd, Corey Floyd and friend, Dennisha Young, Christopher Worth and Michael Mayes; five nieces: Dominica Mayes, Theresa Floyd, Tasha Floyd, Rebecca Hooks and Vanessa Lowe; a devoted friend and caregiver, Ms. Katrina Fuller, Americus, GA; a devoted friend and brother, Mr. Raymond Johnson; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
