Mr. Charlie McDaniel Coleman

March 5, 1971 – January 13, 2020

Mr. Charlie McDaniel Coleman was born Americus, Sumter County, Georgia on March 5, 1971, to the parentage of the late Mr. Charlie Clifford Hawk and Ms. Lena Mae Coleman. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, he joined the New Mt. Mariah Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. D. H. Henry. Charlie faithfully played the guitar and sang in the choir until his health failed. Charlie adored his work as a volunteer auxiliary deputy with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Ms. Lena Mae Coleman, Americus, GA; his step-mom, Ms. Elizabeth Hawk, Columbus, GA; four daughters: Bianca Woods, Ms. Nijayla Waters, Ms. Jaylliyah Waters and Ms. Arion Waters, all of Americus, GA; two sons, Mr. George Woods, Americus, GA and Mr. Jaycoben Coleman, Homerville, GA; three grandchildren: G’marion, G’kaiden and Giovonne, all of Americus, GA; four sisters: Mrs. Cynthia (John) Ingram of Locust Grove, GA; Ms. Aerika Spellers of Columbus, GA; Mrs. Doris (William) Mann and a devoted sister, Ms. Sonya Coleman, all of Americus, GA; one brother, Mr. Reginald (Valerie) Hawk of Colorado Springs, CO; seven aunts: Mrs. Dora (AJ) Daniel, Ms. MaeVester Coleman, Ms. Nellie Coleman, Ms. Bertha Floyd, all of Americus, GA; Ms. Machelle Hawk, Ms. Vonn Hawk, both of Columbus, GA and Ms. Patricia Coleman, Pompano Beach, FL; one god-aunt, Ms. Hazel Fredrick, Americus, GA; ten uncles: Mr. Eugene Coleman, Atlanta, GA; Mr. Eddie Dunn, Mr. O.Z. Coleman, Mr. A.J. Daniel, Mr. John L. Floyd, all of Americus, GA; Mr. Seaborn (Chris) Hawk, Mr. Kenneth Hawk, Mr. Charles Hawk, Mr. Clifford Hawk and Mr. Melvin Jones, all of Columbus, GA; truly loving and devoted caregiver, Ms. Gwen Lassiter Spivey; and a host of nieces, including a devoted niece, Ms. Shamere Brown; nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including devoted friends, Mr. Steven Fripp, Mrs. Ethel Carter, Mr. Eugene Carter and his pet dogs, also survive.
