Ms. Dorothy Ann Battle

July 22, 1949 – February 9, 2020

Ms. Dorothy Ann Battle was born in Sumter County, Georgia on July 22, 1949, to the parentage of the late Mr. James Battle and Mrs. Minnie Lee Broner Battle, who survives. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. She was a self-employed child care provider. She studied with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed cooking, going to the “Oldie Goldies”, and spending time with her grands that she shared with her son through Plezy Lee Nelson, Jr.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Minnie Lee Broner Battle of Americus, GA, she leaves to cherish her memories: three sons: Mr. Timothy Nelson, Mr. Antonio Nelson and friend, Ny’Sheka Sims and Mr. Plezy Lee Nelson, III and friend, La’Shonda Woods, all of Americus, GA; two brothers, Mr. Larry (La’Daisy) Battle and Mr. Charlie (Lynn) Battle, all of Americus, GA; one sister, Ms. Annie Ruth Battle, Americus, GA; nine grandchildren: Ty’Sean Nelson, Za’Quavion Nelson, Ta’Mia Nelson, Ty’Tiona Nelson, Antonio Nelson, Jr., Jada Nelson, Chole Nelson, Ny’King Sims and Lon’Dria Nicole Nelson; seventeen nieces and nephews: Dashia Brown, April (Pastor Rayfield) Boyd, Sharon Terry, Stephanie Fuller and friend, Christopher, Janet Battle, Clinton (Kimberly) Terry, III, Charlie (Latoya) Battle, Jr., Derrick (Alecia) Battle, Walter (Veronica) Fuller, Jr., Melissa (Lee) Pace, Joseph (Annette) Terry, Brittany Battle, Jerod Battle, Whitney Battle, Charleisha Battle, Charneisha Battle and Damien (Cassie) Battle; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, including a devoted friend, Mr. William Asberry also survive.
