Sister Bertha Lee Angry Williams

April 7, 1938-January 16, 2020

Sister Bertha Lee Angry Williams was born in Sumter County, Georgia on April 7, 1938, to the parentage of the late Mr. George Angry and the late Mrs. Sarah Laster Angry. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, she joined the Greater Cedar Springs Baptist Church, where she served faithfully. She was a member of the Board of Ushers and Mother of the Church. She was also a member of the Christian Family Cluster Circle Ministry of the Lebanon Baptist Church. She worked for 30 plus years as a seamstress at Manhattan Shirt Company. She was married to the late Mr. Thomas E. Williams. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by a son, David Williams; a granddaughter, Shambretta “Teddy” Johnson; and her siblings: George Angry, Jr., Leonard Angry, Authry Mae Sims and Annie Kate Angry.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Mr. Thomas E. (Luevina) Williams, Jr., Havelock, NC; two brothers, Mr. Eugene (Sharon) Angry and Mr. William (Doris) Angry, all of Smithville, GA; three sisters: Ms. Letha McCoy and friend, Mr. Walter Jackson, Ms. Mary Lundy and Ms. Queen Holley, all of Americus, GA; a daughter-in-law, Ms. Rochelle Williams, Dawson, GA; a sister-in-law, Ms. Mary Hawkins Angry, Preston, GA; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
