Elder Henry Joe Louis

Elder Henry Joe Louis was born in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia on August 18, 1943, to the parentage of the late Mr. Joe Louis and the late Mrs. Mary D. Westberry Louis. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. In November 1977, he joined the Americus Pentecostal Church of the Apostolic Faith. In 1995, he was ordained into the ministry.

Elder Louis served in the United States Army for two years and the United States Navy for two years before being Honorably Discharged. He was employed with the Georgia Forestry Commission and retired after over 30 years of service. He loved traveling, meeting new people, talking about the Lord, reading, learning mathematics and reading the encyclopedia and researching on Google.

On November 12, 1977, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Pamela A. Hall.

In addition to his parents, He is preceded in death by a son, Samuel L. Louis and a brother, Charles Louis.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 42 years, Mrs. Pamela Hall Louis, Americus, GA; his children: Henry Joe Louis, Baltimore, MD; Melvin Louis, Rosharon, TX; Phoebe Brooks, Buffalo, NY; Kizzy (Fredrick) Joiner, Americus, GA and Sheketta Wakefield, Plains, GA; his siblings: Kay Dee Jones and Bobby Louis, both of Americus, GA; cousins raised as siblings: Shirlene Barnes, Larry Tarver, Lamar Tarver, Curtis Tarver, William Tarver and a devoted cousin, Jacquelyn Bridges; his grandchildren: Schantiqua Weatherspoon, Solomon Eke, Frederick (CJ) Joiner, Brianna Louis and Bryant Foster, Jr.; four brothers-in-law: Edwin Goodwin, Charles Harris, Darrell (Janice) Goodwin, all of Americus, GA and James Harris, West Palm Beach, FL; four sisters-in-law: Pauline (Lorenzo) Bodie, West Palm Beach, FL; Jackie Henderson, Panama City, FL; Mae Ola Louis, Americus, GA and a devoted sister-in-law, Deborah (Curtis) Johnson, Americus, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends also survive.
