AMERICUS,GA–The Golden Heart Foundation held their annual charity event on February 29th at the Habitat Global Village in Americus, GA.

The Golden Heart Foundation was created by Twany E. Edwards, a Sumter County, Ga native, with the help of board members Nadine Pope and Lawanna Laster. The event celebrated their 3rd charity ball. The organization is a non-profit that brings the community together and donates the proceeds to other local non-profit organizations like the Friendship Homeless Shelter, Life Transformation Ministries, Midnight Basketball LLC and the Smarr Smith Foundation to name a few. So far the organization has donated and assisted in donations totaling over 25K.

The Golden Heart Foundation is on a mission to support local charities that secure our safety and serve the most vulnerable populations in our community, youth, homeless, and victims of domestic abuse. Achieving this goal is only possible if the community unifies to support one another, lend a helping hand, and love thy neighbor. We are seeking monetary donations and/or donations of items that will benefit homeless shelters, domestic violence refuge, and scholarship foundation. If you would like to make donations please email Twany Edwards at or Nadine Pope at
