Albert Monts

On April 5, 2020, Albert Monts, age 66, surrendered weary and burdened, and the Lord gave him rest. He was the son of the late A. J. Thomas and the late Lucille Monts. He lived his life without parameters and appreciated the gentle breeze of peace amid life challenges. He joined Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age. He attended and held a variety of jobs throughout his life. The one passion he claimed to be an expert was playing pool. He gloated: “there is no one better than me.” He could be a gentle giant or a formidable force to reckon with for those who knew him.

He was the baby boy of twelve siblings. He is preceded in death by his siblings: McArthur Monts, George Frank Monts, Sr., Margaret Perpall, Elizabeth Terry, and Marvin Monts.

He was blessed with one son, Calvin Daniels of Americus, GA and nine grandchildren: Quincy Daniels, Tkhia Daniels, Aquavion Daniels, Jaqavious Daniels, Kamarrious Daniels, Ka’tavious Daniels, Calvin Battle, Dakarien Daniels, and K’marie Johnson; one great-grand, Hailen Daniels. He is also survived by his bothers: John (Ida Mae) Monts, Plains, GA; David Monts and Williams Monts, both of Smithville, GA and Elder Ed (Juanita) Ross, Plains, GA;
sisters: Anna Edwards, Earnestine Jackson, both of Smithville, GA; Mary Jackson, Edna Jones, and cousin, Eddie R. Walker, all of Americus, GA; his extraordinary niece, Sabrina L. Edwards, who gave unselfishly to make moments in his life more meaningful and satisfying; his nephew, John Keith Monts, who would step in and assist in his care, needs, and wants. In addition, he leaves two loving and kind great nieces, Alashia Sims and Shanbricia Jackson-Floyd and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
